Circular saws can be used to cut wood and can saw various grooves. Its type can be divided into three types, one is ordinary circular saw, one is cantilever saw, and the other is compound circular saw. The saw table of the compound circular saw is separated from left to right, and large workpieces can be operated through the plane that moves back and forth.

The circular saw includes a saw table, a guide plate, a miter gauge, a mandrel and a lifting wheel. The saw blade is mounted on a spindle whose main shaft is connected to the motor via a belt and pulley. For safety, a safety cover is also installed on the saw blade. During operation, the saw blade is located under the saw table, and the material moves on the saw table for sawing.

Circular saw structure:

There are about three common types of saw blades used in circular saws: longitudinal blades, transverse blades, and vertical and horizontal blades. In addition, there are saw blades for grooving, but they are not used in general practice workshops. The size of a circular saw machine depends on the diameter of the saw blade.

Saw blade type:

Circular saws have attachments called guide plates. The groove on the saw table is where the guide plate can be moved. Guides can be used for sawing or chamfering. The inclination of the mandrel can also be adjusted so that the saw blade and table are at an incline angle for sawing sloping surfaces. A bevel gauge is a guide for crosscut saws with a circular dial that can be used to adjust the bevel angle of the saw. Here's how to use a circular saw.

1. Horizontal sawing:

(1) Adjust the height of the circular saw blade so that it is about 3 mm higher than the thickness of the material.

(2) Indicate the length of the material to be sawed.

(3) Place the material on the miter gauge. If the miter gauge and saw blade are not at right angles, they must be adjusted to be at right angles.

(4) Use a miter gauge to push the material for sawing.

(5) After cutting the material, the material on the miter gauge should be moved back to avoid unnecessary friction

(6) When the circular saw is cutting horizontally, do not use the guide plate as a positioning tool.

2. Longitudinal sawing

(1) Adjust the distance between the guide plate and the saw blade to the desired width, and then fix the guide plate.

(2) Adjust the height of the saw blade to make it 3-6mm higher than the thickness of the material.

(3) Activate the switch of the circular saw, hold the material with your left hand, and apply a slight lateral push to make the straight edge close to the guide plate, then push the material with your right hand for sawing. The push speed should not be too fast.

(4) When sawing a long board longitudinally, let the assistant hold the material to prevent the material from sagging due to the weight, but the assistant should not pull the material to avoid danger.
